General Fees Policy

  • Any default in the payment of fees will debar the student from subsequent course and examination entries. 
  • Full-time course is defined as a coherent programme of study followed over a whole academic year with a minimum of 15 hours per week of timetabled study.

Deposits

  • Successful overseas applicants for any course must pay a minimum fee deposit plus non-refundable registration fee £250 to accept their place.
  • Upon clearing funds, necessary documents will be sent to the overseas students to support their visa application.
  • Students will be given an option to pay the deposit by cash, cheque, bank transfer or bank draft.

Note: If student is paying directly to the College bank account, they must use their full name as reference.

Deposits Paid in Person

  • For the students’ in UK or any of their friend/relative on student’s behalf have an option to pay the deposit/fees by cash and/or cheque to
  • our Accounts/ Administrative Manager with in the college.
  • Receipt for the payment will be given at the same time and if necessary payment details will also be mentioned on the visa support letter.

Note: We encourage our students not to send cash by post or carry large amount.

Deposits Paid to third parties

  • College maintains strict policy that students are not allowed to pay their fees to any third party.
  • College approved overseas representatives will be authorized to accept only bank drafts payable to Northam College. If any student
  • makes payment to the representative must obtain receipt and inform the college by email/fax or phone or if their any doubts.

Note: In any event students are encouraged must not pay any tuition fees by cash or drafts payable to overseas representatives

Fee Payments

Home & International students:

  • Students aged 18 or over at the start of a full-time course who are legally resident in United Kingdom or any EU country will be liable for course fees at the “home” rate.
  • All overseas students will be charged fees at the “International” rate

Students have an option to pay the fees in full or in Instalments
  • Students who pay full tuition fees may be entitled to have discount in their fees or any other facilities.
  • Students who choose to pay in instalments option must be pay within the agreed instalments term.

Note: Students who opt to pay instalments must settle their fees prior to the completion of the course. There will be an additional charge who fails to meets the agreed term or dishonour of their cheque.

Refunds

The college acknowledge that there would be many reasons to withdraw from a course before the term starts and/or during the term takes place.

To withdraw from the course/college the following conditions apply

  • Must be in written and the date of notice will be considered on the date of receipt by the Admissions Department.
  • Must be received before two weeks of the course commencement date.
  • Must sent their visa refusal letter if they failed to obtain a visa for entry clearance with in one month from the date of receipt of refusal letter.

Note:

  • A non-refundable registration fee £250.00 will not be refunded in any event. In order to claim a refund of tuition fees the student or sponsor must follow the procedure:
  • Complete and return the Refund Application form along with Student Card and other College property, including all original documentation issued by the college.
  • International students and/or their sponsors must return all original documents issued by the College and proof of refusal of student visa letter and photocopy of the relevant Passport page.

Time Scale:

  • The process will start immediately from the date of receipt of the enquiry when all necessary documents submitted to the college along with the Refund Application Form.
  • Although the College will always endeavour to respond to refund enquiries/request with a matter of urgency, under normal circumstances it may takes between 4 - 6 weeks to process a refund.

No refund will be given to a student under the following circumstances:
  • The college reserves full right of refusing to refund the tuition fees if the entry clearance/Leave to Remain refusal on the basis of submitting fraudulent documents/information
  • Due to change in personal circumstances, including a family bereavement. 
  • If the student advised to leave the country by UK authorities, or if they leave the UK during the programme period without permission from the College and are subsequently refused re-entry.
  • If a visa is refused as a consequence of not having a minimum UKBA attendance requirement and/or of any illegal activities by the student.
  • If the disruption in studies is due to students’ conviction, court proceedings or a litigation involving them.
  • If any notice for withdrawal received after two weeks of the course commencement date for whatsoever reason

Note: If the notice of withdrawal is received within two weeks of the course commencement date, the refund will be at the discretion of the College.

Review of the Policy:

The College may use their discretion to review and alter this Policy and Procedures at any time without giving prior notice to or consulting with anyone concerned or affected by this policy.
